    What is cold sweat?

    Diaphoresis or Hyperhidrosis

    What is the difference between Diaphoresis and Hyperhidrosis?

    Both entities have excessive sweating as a basic characteristic. In the case of hyperhidrosis, it usually occurs in localized areas of the body, while Diaphoresis is general, throughout the body at the same time.

    In turn, there are differences in its causes. In hyperhidrosis, the cause is generally neurological, while in hyperhidrosis the cause is general diseases.

    Sweating has several normal or physiological effects, including the elimination of some waste or toxins and the regulation of body temperature, as the most important.

    There are 3 million sweat glands distributed throughout the body, predominantly in some parts of the body, which are capable of secreting from half a liter of sweat per day in conditions of rest and warm temperature, up to 10 liters per day in intense exercise or activity under heat.

    The amount of sweat we have at any given time is regulated by the nervous system that emits signals at different levels to control body temperature. These signals, in turn, can be increased by certain chemical and hormonal stimuli.

    Causes of cold sweat

    10. Anxiety.

    11. Crisis of panic.

    12. Suspension or withdrawal of alcohol / Abstinence.

    13. Hypoglycemia, low blood sugar.

    14. Tumor / malignant diseases such as:

    1.Lymphomas

    1.Pheochromocytomas (tumor of the adrenal glands).

    1.Leukemias.

    1.Carcinoid tumors.

    15. Parkinson's disease.

    16. Sepsis, generalized infections.

    17. Tuberculosis.
